2001 bandit 1200s
 

i have a bandit 1200s I bought 2 months ago been riding it but it feels sluggish just not running right but every now an then it will just pep up an run perfect maybe for a little while then goes back to running sluggish again. if anybody can shed some light on this problem it would be greatly appreciated. when it running right its like shootin nitrous in it but it wont stay runnin like that very long please help me. its like eating a big ole T-bone then having to settle for hamburger helper

I'am new but i have watched a lot of videos on the Bandit. It could be the fuel pump in the tank that is shutting on & off randomly causing your problem. If the pump has never been replaced I would give it a shot. It is 20 years old. That tank could be very dirty and the filter on the bottom of the pump could be clogged up big time causing this problem you describe.

The Quantum HFP- 386 should be your pump.
