2006 Suzuki boulevard c90 won't turn over
 

My 2006 Suzuki Boulevard C90 won't turn over. I turn the key on, flip the kill switch on and push the start button amd nothing happens. The lights dim so I know it's drawing power. I replaced the battery and the start solenoid twice and it still won't start. However, if I bypass the solenoid, it starts right up. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I'd check the kick stand down safety switch. or possibly, is the kick stand down?
