Default checking the oil

I just purchse a 2005 C90 and I love it. In the owner manual it says that to check the oil the bike has to be level and vertical. Well I almost drop the bike when I bentdown to check in the inspection window. Has any one else had that problem or is it my 240 pounds and my over developped habs. If some one had that problem what do you do to check the oil, do you have some one else hold the bike or is there a trick??

You can have someone hold the bike if you need to, I check mine on one knee and just sort of one handed pull the bike upright off the kickstand and then lower it back. I find it helps sometimes to leave the stearing locked. Admittedly my M50 is a little lighter, but it should work for you.

Default RE: checking the oil

The trick I use to check the oil on my 2005 C90T is to use a mechanics mirror. Retracted it's about 6" long and extended it's about 36" long with a 1" diameter mirror on the end. I sit on my bike, hold it level, extend the mirror, and check the oil level quit easily. You can also use it to check your break fluids with the bike level.
