Default Help with a possible new C50C

I'm seriously thinking about buying a new C50C but I need some advise. Can you folks advise me on the weak points of the C50. I need you to be honest. What is the most troublesome area of the C50? Last year when I bought my new 05 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 I asked the same question to a 750 forum and was told of a few minor problems that may arise, I wish that those folks would have told me about the engine removal needed to replace the stator. Will you folks tell me about such concerns, if any with the C50? Your advise will help me make my decision. Please don't pull any punches, be truthful. Thank you.

Cordially,
Mike Hebert

I have about 4K miles on my 05 C50 and here is the only things I can find wrong. The front brakes are a little weak and the windshield is several inches too low. Other than that I enjoy the ride and haven't had to do anything except change oil.

I agree about the front brake and windshield, and i have put 15000 on my 06 C50C and it rides beautifully. I was warned by another rider that has ownedmany VL800s (c50,volusia,intruder) and he told me that the engine kill switch has a tendancy of going out after a while, but i never use mine, i always just turn the ignition seitch off so that doesn't affect me. I love this bike though and wouldn't trade it for any other. I have never heard any c50 owners that didn't love their bike, so i would say its a great buy.

I put 5000 miles on my 07 c50 so far and no problems at all. Back brake is a little weak and Id like to see a little taller gearing.
