Default 2008 M50 Handlebar Question...

Greetings!!!

I'm the proud owner of a 2008 M50... And it's AWESOME!!!

I just want to know what my options are to bring the bars back so I don't have to site so up-right.

I've heard risers, but I was hoping to get a new bar all together.

Would the bar off one of the other Boulevards work?

I don't want to replace the cables and brake hose... I just want to bring the bars back about 3 or 4 inches.

Please help.

Thanks!

I have a 2007 M50 and found my reach on a U-turn was maxed out, so I have been looking to switch bars as well. I purchased some C50 bars and am having them put on this week. They think they can do it without changing out the cables, but that might have to be done. I'll let you know how it turns out.

As I said in my last note, I had the bars from my M50 switched out to the C50 bars. I picked it up today, so it will take a bit of getting used to. It definitely brings my hand position back and lower.I think it will work out really well. So it can be done. They used the same cables but had to remove the tank to reroute them in front of the triple-tree. I had taken it to my local Suzuki dealer and they tried twice and said it couldn't be done without new cables. So I took it to a custom bike dealer and he had no problem doing it. So you might want to go that route. Good Luck!

Using the C50 handlebar was my first thought when I bought my M50. The sales guys said it was possible, but suggested I tried as-is first and see if I'd get used to it. Tell us more after some months riding it w/ C50 bars, OK?

Well I have had the C50 bars on now for a month and a half or so. They are fantastic. It felt strange the first ride and took some getting used to in the slow speed, but now I find turning is so much easier. Way less effort than with the original bars cause my arms are more relaxed and the bars are wider. My husband keeps saying I should have just bought the C50 to start with but I like the look of the M50 and it is not as heavy. So I am really happy I made the switch. Good luck with yours.

You wouldn't have a picture of the new bars on the bike would you?

I had my 2005 M50 bars replaced with the C50's. Works fine, but the cables will need to be rerouted. Also, the throttle cable will work however it will rub against the gas tank when you make a full right turn. My local M/C shop told me to replace the original throttle cable with new longer ones (I haven't done it yet though).

I really enjoy the upgrade...it makes it much easier when I make U-Turns now. Also, the bike has a more relaxed feel...I don't feel that I have to reach forward as much like a crotch rocket bike.
