RE: S50 A real piece o crap
Problem with s-50 brakes, they are old design and pad rattles on brake piston, can be remedied by purchase of product made by sbs brake pad co., a rectangular pad that can be cut and trimmed to go on backside of brake pads, this will stop squeal when brakes applied. I have seen this work, blue brake pad anti-squeal bought at auto parts does not work, sbs (brand) does work. Start problem on s-50's or vs-800 due mostly to loose battery post or post adapter. Must remove battery to tighten post adapter bolts, remember to remove negative batt. terminal first and hookup negative last on reinstall. This can not only cause no starts (intermittent) and run problems. I hope this helps.

2005 Suzuki S50
I have owned my 2005 suzuki S50 for a little over 4yrs. My X-hubby owns a 97 Intruder 800 (similar bike). I can a-sure you that it's typical for these bikes to hate running cold even in FLORIDA weather.
When I first start my S50 the chocker is fully pulled, then I may take off for a couple of blocks before pushing the chocker back in. I joke with friends saying suzuki named the bike S50 cuz it's cold like a S=snake and chances are only 50=50% hot enough to run...LMAO
It's a great little bike, I love it. All bikes have something you must learn to live with (YES, ALL BIKES).
