weird sound coming from engine

I have a 2012 Suzuki boulevard S40, and when I am driving and start to close the throttle to decelerate the engine makes a weird sound. Sounds like an electric motor powering down. Very high pitch. Any ideas? A coworker suggested it might be the idle.
