DR 200 Fuel Valve Question

Just picked up a DR200, can anyone tell me what the square body does that is attached to the fuel valve shutoff. Never seen one of these before. It has a hose that goes to the carb, it does not seem to carry gas when I pulled it off like the main fuel supply line.
