Suzuki Forum - Suzuki Enthusiast Forums - DR 200 Transmission Problem

I have a 2000 barn-find DR 200 with only 3800 miles on her. She has been in a barn for 14 years, so you can imagine the many issues with her that need addressed.

I have no battery for her, so I used one too small to check out the electrics. The lights work, but the starter only clicks. I assume that is due to the battery being too small.

I have done many things to her and she is coming around.

The engine oil level was fine. Just black as coal naturally.

The problem is the transmission will not engage into any gear. The shiftier sounds and feels just fine. It clicks into the gears just fine by sound and feel, but it does not engage any gear. The bike free wheels.in all gears.

I had lubed the clutch cable earlier. The clutch seems fine. Just a bit heavy and stiff, but that probably is just me being used to hydraulic clutches. The clutch lever on top of the engine looks to be working fine.

The neutral light works normally.

What do you think may the issue and what should I check??
