Bad Engine in 2005 Forenza

In May I purchased a new 2005 Forenza, last thursday 7/21/05 the engine bit the dust with only 2300 miles on it. Has anyone had a similar problem? If so were you given any indication of what caused it? My wife and I drive this vehicle to work mostly highway it has not been driven hard, this is the first time I've ever had a problem such as this with any vehicle I've purchased.

did you take it back to the dealership? what exactly went bad? will it just not run, or are there internal engine issues?

While driving up a slight hill the engine suddenly started reving quickly, making alot of noise and the car would only move at about 5 mph (based on what my wife told me who was driving it at the time). When I arrived to where she was at, I started the car and it sounded to me as if the car had suddenly become a diesel. The car is now at the dealership awaiting delivery of a new engine from Suzuki. The dealership realy hasn't indicated what happened, but they did say that two cyclinders have little if any compression one has some and the fourth has about fifty percent of what it should have. Although they haven't been able to specifically identify what the cause was, they are speculating that it was either a defective engine component or improper assembly of the engine. A few days before this I noticed that it seemed to be idling a little rough but I put it down to the power usage caused by the AC.

it sounds like in both cases, oil pressure was lost, which would create the loss of cylinders, if the engine actually "blew"
