Gearbox problems in 1994 Suzuki Baleno
Hey guys, this has been happening on my dad's car, been happening for a couple weeks now. It's probably common and easy to ID so please help me if you can.
Basically, 1st gear, there will be a horribly loud whining and crunching noise if any decent load is put onto the car... 2nd gear no longer exists, if I put it in second, releasing the clutch will produce massive grinding and the shifter vibrates like mad (like an unsuccessful clutch-less shift) 3rd gear engages ok, but lifting off and down shifting into third will produce again, grinding and whining 4th is fine 5th is fine What's broken in my dad's 94 Suzuki Baleno? This was my first car... I still love it... |

Remove the valve body clean it and replace the balls and springs (the modulator seems to be fine since it shifts to third) you could do this by buying a new shift kit (be sure to get the RV model not the RACE model) or using parts from a junkyard valve body
You seem to have a ball stuck in a fluid passage this would cause the problem but if the above doesn't work it is beyond the knowledge mechanic level |
