Default Welded. Diff

Can you weld a front diff for daily use if 4x4 is not engaged

Yes you can, BUT, You can not EVER engage it on the road, when it is slick out, wet pavement, snow, ice will get you or someone else killed doing it.
Off road it is great. I have had several Suzuki's with the front welded and the 1st one back in 1990, gave me a lesson and let me live to tell the story.
Air lockers or posi tracks are safest in front. If you don't have a steel front diff. ,go get one and installed it.
Besides owning several off road Suzuki's since 1990, I am also former Fire/1st Responder and LEO. I have seen several accidents on and off road do to the front being welded up.
