97 Marauder blows main fuse
I have a 1997 Suzuki Marauder and we recently replaced the motor (sometimes it's cheaper to buy a new motor than it is to crack the cases and fix the old one). Since then I have begun to have an issue with the bike blowing the main 30A fuse. I have replaced the voltage regulator to no avail. The bike blows it just sitting there, started, not started, moving or not moving.
I have talked to a few local shops, but it seems everyone around here despises electrical issues, and puts a premium on working on bikes with electrical issues. So that sorta leaves me on my own.
I have a buddy who has a bit of experience with electricals, as well as a fairly good shop manual, so I'm not totally screwed, but if anyone can give me some pointers as to what to look for, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
