GS1000G Carb question, dumb?

PIC HERE

May seem dumb, but during carb rebuild I noticed a hole in the middle of the carb, just above the rubber stop in the pic, that is blanked off in the other carbs. Should this one be blanked off? Were would I get such a plug? All help more gratefully appreciated than you know.

Hi Mr. stemplarbond,

Is that a CV carb? A Mikuni BS34 or similar? Is that a picture of the #2 carb? Isn't that where you get the vacuum for the petcock? I have a feeling that it's normal. Here are a couple more links with carb info:

Thank you for your indulgence,
