Horn issue Suzuki 1982 GN125
Hi guys! I'm the original owner of a 1982 GN125 with 35,000 miles. I'm a skilled DIY'er, but this has me at a loss (or I'm missing something). My horn is not working, but the horn itself is good (tested it jumped to 12volt power). The horn button seems to be ok (when I first noticed this I took the button apart and cleaned the contacts, but I had the problem before then). When I push the horn button the horn clicks like it's not getting full power. When I push the button I am getting 10 volts at the horn itself. My battery isn't the best, but I jumped it to my car just to make sure I had a full 12volts going in the system. With the cables hooked up and 12volts at the battery, I still get 10volts at the horn wire when I push the button. The starter cranks so I know I have 12volts in the system, but only 10 at the button.
This bike is dirt simple. There is 1 relay that's shared by the turn signals and the horn. The turn signals work, so the relay should be ok then, right? But if that's the case I don't know why I'm only getting 10 volts to the horn. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/suzukif...62edf966b6.jpg |
