M50 battery discharging
 

I am new owner of 2005 M50. Good bike.
One problem - when I park without riding for two or three days, the battery discharges. It is a good battery, and I have in fact removed the positive terminal and checked with an ammeter for current draw.
With ignition OFF, there is a significant current draw, and I suspect a short in the system:confused:
Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there "most likely" location, or a systematic way of tracking down the short?

did you perchance turn the key to the PARK position, when you removed the key?

When that happens, the tail light burning on the unattended bike will run down the battery.

Please do not ask me how I know this

Thank you for any replies. I did in fact track down the problem myself. There is a great ganglion of wires which pass beside the left side of the forks. These wires are stressed each time the forks are turned, particularly badly when the forks are in the "parking lock" position. I found one wire which had the insulation worn away, which shorted against the back of the ignition key housing when the steering column was locked. It was relatively easy to find and correct once I started investigating.

Check the ignition wire set,,something must have been mistakenly connected to it causing it to drain... need to check for voltage draw in the vehicle while shut off..
