Need new keys '86 GS-550
Hi everyone, I'm new here. Just bought my first bike, a 1986 GS-550.
The owner lost the keys but told me I could remove the ignition switch and give the code to a dealer to get new keys made. Others have told me the same but, when I called the only Suzuki dealer I know here in Honolulu and they said it wasn't possible. Is this true or false? I already have the switch removed. I guess I can get a good locksmith to make one? Thanks |

Hi Mr. rmusic72,
On the ignition, the gas cap, or the helmet lock, there should be a three digit number. With those numbers, any good locksmith should be able to cut a key for you. Thank you for your indulgence, BassCliff |

Hi,
Yes, if you can find the three-digit code it can be used to make a key from a Suzuki blank. If you have more questions about your classic Suzuki GS, try the guys over at http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum . They know everything about these bikes. Be sure the check out all the info on the main page - http://www.thegsresources.com - and on my website (link in sig). Thank you for your indulgence, BassCliff |
