Default Newer swingarm?

I have a 1985 GS700E. Have been fixing it up for my wife, paint, polishing, etc... I am going to install a small streetfighter windscreen, clip-ons, and new gauges very soon. I was wondering if anyone out there knows if it is possible to fit a newer GSXR swingarm to this bike, in order to be able to run more modern sized rubber? Anyone have any ideas? I am new to this forum, and would appreciate any help you can offer..Thanks! [/align]

Default RE: Newer swingarm?

From what I know, the only way is to put one is just process of elimination. If you think it will work just try and see. It will be moreof a problemthan its worth. When you put a different swingarm on you also have to worry about the suspension. You will also have to make sure that the engine sprocket matches up right or your gonna be in a lot of trouble. Not saying that someone doesnt make them. I work for one of the biggest motorcyle dearlerships in the mid-west and so farI havent heard of a different swing arm for that. Def take some research.
