Default slip-on vs. bolt-on

whats the difference between a slip-on and a bolt-on? and also, would i gain or lose any power with a slip on/bolt on?

i assume that youre talking about the muffler? typically, "slip on" means that its just a muffler, slipped onto the stock pipe. "bolt on" usually refers to a more complete system which includes the pipe and muffler.
