1991 katana has no spark
 

im having trouble with a no spark issue on a 1991 katana 6oo. I've narrowed down to the ignition pulse generator. (I think). My question is, could someone explain to me what exactly this is, & where it's located.

if you plan on doing your own work on this bike,i woudl suggest getting a repair manual.

I'm new to this forum concept. I'm not really sure how it's suppose to work. please forgive me, i don't mean to offend. perhaps someone out there could school me down. I requested info on a 1991 katana w/o spark at the plugs. The bike belong's to friend, and has been sitting a few years. I already done the given's: fresh gas, overhauled the carbs, replaced battery, replaced plugs,checked fuses/connections, and tested coils. It was suggested to check the "Ignition Impulse Regulator". If i'm not out of line, any suggestions would really help. Thank you in advance for any responces . "THE 1 ARM BANDIT"

Look at all the wiring, follow them around, mabey you missed a fuseable link, or purhaps it's a coil bad coil?:eek:

Do look for a manual, they come in handy, and make everything alot easier to visualise!
