Hi, I've not truly "touched" a mc for a couple of decades, approx, but presently have a 1981 185 "dirt bike" is the best I can describe it; I think when I bought it brand new in 1981, we called it a "trail bike"; not a hot "peaky" engine, just a normal two stroke [I am SO sure it's "oil injected" but not that certain], so it's been sitting a LOOOOONG time.

I got the bug to bring it back to life, not "restore" it [the seat is shameful]. It was garaged for 90 pct of it's life, but spent a few years in the sunshine and other "weather".

So, I'll want to post in the proper forum; help............ is it the "off road" forum? or what?

No, it's not a MotoCross bike, nor one of those 1 mph go over EVERYTHING and every terrain bikes [forgot what you call that competition, "crawling" over trees and rocks, etc.............. [enduro?], nah.............

Like I said, it was just used for mild trail riding, often with my children back then.

So, point me in the right direction so I get in the right forum, AND prepare to make suggestions and ask questions as to it's condition and what I might should be thinking about before trying to start it up. Battery, flush gas tank, and new gas for sure, ha.

General concerns; tires, tubes, chain and sprockets.

Oh, it's a LOW mileage mc; I'll get the mileage tomorrow.

Biggest request, is point me to the right forum, ok? Do folks post photos with their posts? how?

thx,

LarryR : )
