Today's my first day with this bike. 18,000 miles, appears to be in good shape. I purchased it from a dealer and pestered them with 100 questions but missed a couple obvious ones. BTW, I've ordered a service manual, to arrive in a few days.

So, first dumb question of many I'm sure I'll have as the bike breaks me in. I haven't even put gas in it yet. Which grade should I use? And should I opt for ethanol-free if available?

The higher the octane level the better. I had a C50 that you could tell the difference in regular unleaded and Premium unleaded, so I always run premium in any bike I'm on whether its mine or not.
