It's the 14th already? Man, SB has a point, however, i have no new material to flaunt at this time, so i agree with Patrick, in that it takes time. WHY i bet you, in a fiew months, or mabey within a year's time, we will be swiming through countless entries, looking at great pictures of other people's wonderful cars!

Question, who's got something that tops two fifteen inch subs, and a 750watt amp (580rms)???? I want to know what i'm up against in the aerio audio world that i should be worried about..i need more insentive to waste money on my car..come on people, what do you all have for sound?

And i am TOTALY getting an in-dash flip up dvd player, SO cool, and it HAS to have a tv tuner, and a graphic EQ. Very exciting times coming very soon.

Well that aint gonna happen unless you get involved. Its not all about flaunting whatchu got...I mean, dude, you asked me about the AEM intake, and I did a big ol write up on it(just for you)(and everybody else of course)...with pictures even! And how did you respond??? You see what I mean?

Yah! I wish!!!

RE: Anti-forum Forum

Yeez, SB= super helpful with the intake and all. As the story goes, I was about to purchase this AEM coldair intake from TOYSPORT here in Winnipeg, as they told me it's the only thing to do other than a ram air..and i would have bought it if it wasnt for SB's posts, with super descriptove photos. I have taken the plastic inner fender lining off to take a first hand look at thoes rubbing points after the photos i saw, i think AEM should have realy looked into making a mounting bracket to keep the tube out of harm's way.. I like the way SB's buddy made his mounting brackets, and i think i found a fiew places i can strap something in to emulate what he did there. But now i'm thinking about winter, and rain, and i think ram air is the best way to go for me here. I saw that typhoon intake and i think i will order it.

Question:

Has anyone noticed more wear on the inner front brake pads rather than the outer???

I recently found this out for myself as i was looking at thoes rubbing points. fortunatley, SB directed me to www.suzukispeed.com and looked into some new rotors because i'm going to need them, as my inner pads were so worn down, there was no pad, and it's now the metal backing scraping the crap out of my rotors...NOT GOOD, and the strange part was, there was no squealing from the brake pads to indicate somethin was wrong! very odd INDEED!

Yes, do so! I own this currently...great intake, great design and it even has a hanger that bolts to the motor to keep it from floating.

Hasnt happened to me yet, but yes it has happened to some...and it is very strange indeed.

BTW those rotors SuzukiSpeed sells are the best youll find! You may even look for Satisfied Ceramic brake pads to go with those new rotors, your local parts store should carry them(order them for you)

And seriously, EVERYONE(except you motor-pickle guys)...this guys got hard to come by aftermarket parts for all(most) Japaneese Suzuki cars...great prices and I believe usually free shipping! And the good news is, the more who order from him...the more interest he recieves the more products he has developed! So order away...and please try and make him your first choice!

good luck indeed :D

RE: Anti-forum Forum

not all brake pads will squeal prior to grinding into the rotors...only pads which are fitted with "squealers", little pieces of metal clipped onto the edge, will make that sound. [:@]

willkrupnik 05-26-2005 05:34 AM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

Yes, you are correct. My car was a rental car from texas...purhaps they took em out at the agencey just because they service them frequently or something, because i would imagine the dealership would install pads with the squealing shims in them, who knows.

Bottom line, the inside wore faster than the outside for some reason.. i will look into this further.

I found new rotors and pads...it's goona cost me $380cdn, not bad if you ask me!;)

ShortBuSX 06-09-2005 08:00 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

What kinda pads and rotors???

Its been days since Ive had anything to read around here:(

Patrick 06-09-2005 10:42 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

380 for all 4 rotors and pads?

ShortBuSX 06-09-2005 11:26 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

No, weve only got 2 rotors...the rears are drums;)

Patrick 06-10-2005 05:01 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

they dont even offer rear disc??

ShortBuSX 06-10-2005 05:55 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

Nope, not even an aftermarket option...but the drums work adequately, and I dont see any reason for them(rear discs) other than "bling" factor.

Patrick 06-11-2005 02:54 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

that really is why most people go to a disc rear..it looks nicer...i am happy that i have rear discs on my nonner because theyre easier to work on...no adjustments..so on

ShortBuSX 06-13-2005 04:58 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

But dude, adjustment of drums consists of putting the car in reverse and pulling up on the emergency brake.

Drum brakes get a bad rap, but after having them for over a year and a half on my Aerio, Ive been amazed to see all the cars and TRUCKS with drums. Plus no brake dust!

Patrick 06-14-2005 03:43 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

please let me that youre kidding about the adjustment of drum brakes...

ShortBuSX 06-14-2005 08:50 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

No Im not, most drum brakes are self adjusting, and that IS how its usually done.*shrugs*

willkrupnik 08-20-2005 05:34 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

Yes, 380 for all 4.hehehhehh:D

ok, no, no just for 2..

I had to cave and buy some mopar parts, because my pads desinigrated, and they were making wonderful musical noises!

All said and done, i got 2rotors, 4pads in a kit, all together it cost me bout 230$, if you ask me, if i could have waited any longer, i woul dhave went all out and got the rotors off of suzuki speed, and some ceramic brake pads as per shortbus, i have heard lots of good things...but for now, my car stopps! horray!

Lately i have been working on my stereo, and i havew come to the conclusion, that i need a new headunit, badly..or get an eq..or something..

i'l take some pictures when i'm done what i have, i have an obsession with not leaving installations alone for too long, and a large tendancey to re-do everything in another way..

Patrick 08-29-2005 02:21 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

well, so lnog as youre stopping safely..right?

willkrupnik 09-02-2005 01:51 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

so, so true!

willkrupnik 09-24-2005 06:39 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

I just got a new battery for my car, I hooked it up the the back, innitialy to just dampen the power drain from my amp, but it might be a very good idea, as winter is coming up, and extra battery power is gratiously accepted by my aerio!

willkrupnik 05-10-2006 07:51 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

The battery is good....it makes my altenator happy when my stereo is loud...

BTW

The stock 03 aerio deck is a pos after a fiew years eh?

andyone else had that problem, or is it just me!

i looked around for a double din deck...but then i realised that suzuki had clarion build a fancey faceplate to fit in that crazy hole...oh well, i'm not cutting, and i'm not getting a fiberglass thing made just because i want a double din deck...

I am told they have single din adapters for the 03 aerio, so i'l do just fine...but for now..holy mother of...i've had it with my deck

the hug 05-12-2006 12:31 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

I havent had a problem with my stock deck. willkrupnik you are the first one that i have heard of that has had a problem with it, sorry to hear that. about this forum and people not visiting a lot well i just for this one not too long ago i was always on aerio style but now since my home comp[uter doesnt work i use this forum cause my work computer actuall yallows me to write and respond in this forum.

willkrupnik 05-13-2006 11:19 AM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

Yeah I noticed a huge decline in replies, I am also on the other one, and this one too..since I have an aerio, and other people do too, I enjoy having a forum around that can help with problems ;)

RE: Anti-forum Forum

I have made up my mind and I will be keeping my Aerio SX aka SuperseXy edition. My newest mod will be a desk of a high cost value such as Pioneer DEHP6800MP or a Sony GT400/500 or a Alpine CDA-9857. I have been shopping for a nice kit for the unit I perfer and unit with a deep storge cup.:D

On another topic do any of you know how to reduse the static from the seats and no I don't wear my Polyester suit everyday. Something that I can do I've tried Static Guard and shampooing every other week but it comes back. I used so much Static Guard that congrass is now going to fit a bill to help the Ozone. And my Aerio smells like New car smell with the hint of Jock itch. I need help[:@]

Patrick 06-16-2006 01:33 PM

RE: Anti-forum Forum

ive had luck with static guard...however, i have had some cars that just wouldnt stop shocking me.

ShortBusSX - I know this is an old thread - however I'm confused. Being a member for only a short time here just a few days I'm a little disappointed. Reading all the many, many posts that have hundreds and thousands of views with no replies. New members coming in and no one can even reply with a hello? I have been a part of other sites such as fishing , firearms ect. The purpose is to share thoughts and ideas and sometimes help - as well as the same likes as others. I guess this site is not the norm -:(
