Reducing wear?
 

Okay so, I didn't know where else to ask around but I was wondering if anyone knows how to best reduce wear on valves and other auto parts? I'm sick of replacing parts every few years!

So I was looking into the many different ways you can improve wear protection on steel and other metals. So far I have come up with induction hardening, carburizing, nitriding, cyaniding, and boronizing. Apparently the latter is well suited for automobile engineering. Does that mean it's also the best? What should I look out for when I buy new auto parts that last long?
