Need help/advice on TS100 rebuild for my Dad
I'm restoring a 1978 Suzuki TS100 for my dad as a surprise (it was his as a kid). I do not have a '78 manual, I only have a 1979-1984 manual, nor do I have a parts guide.
Problem: I bought an OEM oversize piston (1.0 mm oversize) on ebay and had the cylinder bored to that piston. The piston didn't come with rings so I went to my local suzuki shop and they actually had some rings in stock, but they couldn't confirm that the rings were the actual fit for the 2nd oversize pistion (aka....not able to reference part numbers for a match). They simply put the rings on the piston and acted like they "should work". This is my first rebuild and I don't want to make a mistake with these piston rings, does anyone have a source that I could use to confirm part number of rings to match 2nd oversize piston. Or is there a way that I can confirm the size is an exact match without referencing original specs? |
