Buying Aerio

Hi,
I am looking for used Aero to buy. Need advice on what to look for. Does it have timing belt or chain? Any pros and cons?

RE: Buying Aerio

I think that's the same 2-liter engine that's in the Forenza. The dealer quoted me $425 to replace the timing belt and the accessory drive belt. I can get belts for about $70 at any of the parts stores, so I assume the rest is labor. I'd try it myself if I could find a manual somewhere. Looks like I'll either have to buy the $129 manual from Suzuki, because Haynes isn't looking at printing one.

RE: Buying Aerio

Aerio engine is a suzuki engine with a chain. Forenza and Reno are Daewoo products. I have a 2003 and 2004 Aerio SX, both with awd. 2004 and up have a larger engine with more power and the same mileage. Also 2004 is quieter than 2003. Both are great troublefree cars I would recommend to anyone.

Do you know if those Areo engines are interchangeable betweenReno and Forenza?
