a few questions
Hi, new here and I got a few questions...
1. Is there a way, without taking it in, to tell if I can get a keychain button thingy (so technical i know) to open the locks? Is it a definite no if no power locks, I ask because maybe they just like to get some extra money outta people this way.
2. The screen where the clock/temp is...doesn't light up when the light switch is turned to anything but off. Is there just something wrong with mine or is there a way to fix this, cuz it sucks driving at night and not being able to tell what time it is. Yea, I could turn the headlights to off, cuz the driving lights really are bright enough to see, but the tail lights and some other inside lighting will be off.
3. Is there a way to reset the computer? In my last car, you just had to disconnect the battery for like 10 minutes. My "check engine" light is on, the dealship said its on because they just worked on it...but I still think something may be up, so also is there a way to get a code without taking it in and can anyone link me to what the codes are and their meanings. (in my neon, you'd turn the key 3 times then the light would flash giving you a code)
That's all I can think of at the moment, a huge thank you ahead of time!!

RE: a few questions
You'll need power locks to have a remote entry device.
If your CE light is on, it should be looked at. If the dealer just worked on it, they should have fixed what was wrong and then cleared the code. Sounds like you need to rattle the dealer a little on that one.
The longer I own this car, the more it worries me. Can't find a manual. Can't check the transmission fluid level without special tools. Great idea there! If you run low on fluid and burn something up, you get to replace the transmission, where if you had a dipstick and knew you were losing fluid and could see what color and condition it was in, you might have a hint to have it checked before it burned up.

RE: a few questions
in regard to ur first question,
no power locks--> no button thingy...sorry
2nd question
your clock should always be on, I've got a 05 aerio and my clock is always on.
now, when you turn on your interior light/headlights the clock/temp gauge light should dim a little.
3rd,
If your check engine light is on something is not right or the dealer never reset the codes last time they worked on it.
The fact that the dealer said that its on(check engine light) cause they work on it, now that sounds like a pile of horse manure.
hope this helps some.
p.s. if you've still got an active warranty, why not try a different dealership?

RE: a few questions
ok, my clock is always on, but when i turn the headlight switch from "off" to whatever the other 2 settins are, the illumination for the clock turns completely off. Once it was off in the headlight "off" position and I smacked the top of it and it came back on, so I wonder if theres actually something messed up in there or what.
Does anyone know how to reset the computer/check for codes? It is somewhat believable that they may have forgotten to reset it because they were in quite a rush of getting the car to me, makes me a lil uneasy but I've got a warranty from the car dealership and the car has about 40k more miles on its warranty.
Hopefully this weekend I can make it there, cuz they still have a few things to put on (side markers, fog lights, a wheel cover) that just werent in yet before I got it. So hopefully they know what I can do. It's not a suzuki dealership so I don't know how much knowledge they would have there about it.
I've got a weird living situation and am pretty busy, don't have too much time to be sitting at car places and such, but hopefully next week.
thanks!

RE: a few questions
check out a different dealership if you can.
sounds like something is wrong with both your clock/temp and your engine light.
just don't wait till your warrenty runs out.
talk to the dealer about it, if not go directly to suzuki.com.
also tell the dealer that your going to ask the manufacturer directly if this is something thats normal or not.
Especially about the "check engine light" and the fact that you were told that the fact that its on is because the "Dealer worked on it"
Something along those lines, you never know how the dealer will react to that type of motavation.
