1986 Suzuki Intruder 750 no start

Hello, all.
I just acquired a 1986 Intruder 750. The bike won’t crank or start. It has been sitting untouched for 7 years. I have removed the tank, and plugs. I put a a new battery on it and the lights and signals work, but it won’t crank. Any suggestions on getting it to crankt?

One thing I forgot to mention. The “stand” light is on constantly. Should it go off when the kick stand is up? Would the constant light keep the bike from starting?
