Suzuki Forum - Suzuki Enthusiast Forums - Engine light comes on and off

Hi there,

Been having an issue with my engine light coming on and off. It happens quite randomly and when the light is on the cruise control stops working.

The only thing I have noticed is that temperature extremes seem to make the light come on.

My mechanic first looked at it and replaced one of the ABS sensors however this did not rectify the problem.

After many trips back to his workshop, 4 auto electrician call outs at his expense (initial work guaranteed) he has advised that there is a fault with the altitude sensor and the computer itself needs replacing.

He also said that this needs to be done at a dealer as they need to program the computer etc.

Now he may be telling me the right thing but as this problem continues to plague the vehicle and he has to continuously work for free I'm kind of thinking that maybe he just brushed me off to a dealer to have the computer replaced so it stops being his problem.... or am I being overly suspicious?
