Oil Change
 

I have a 99 Grand Vitara that as most of you know it is critical to keep the oil changed to protect the tensioners. Everytime I take any of my cars somewhere to have the oil changed it always leaks. It's a simple job except to get the filter off without oil leaking all over. Any tricks to get the filter off without the oil runnuing all over everything and later driping on the garage floor. I have the same trioble with changing the oli filter on my two Forenzas. The easiest way is to drain the crankcase first, then stuff a couple of shop rags in the area of the filter before removing. That will catch the little bit spilled when removing the filter and keep it from running everywhere else.

I hate this truck for changing oil. Drain from the plug first. Use tinfoil to funnel all the oil away from the crossmember and into your drain pan when pulling the filter.
It's a pain no matter what you do. Use brakecleaner to clean the excess oil away.
