rebuilt rm 250 wont start
Hi, I'm new to the site and just bought a 2001 rm 250. I did a full rebuild; rebuilt crank and connecting rod, top end, disassembled exhaust valve and cleaned, cleaned magneto, cleaned carb and put adjustment settings back to what my manual says. Basically everything has been cleaned and oiled. But now it won't start, it has spark but seems weak. The fuel bowl had fuel when I opened the drain and its fresh fuel and mixed to 32:1. Anyone have an idea what to try?

have you bump started it?
If it doesnt bump start on a big hill, then:
A gas engine needs 3 things to fire.
Ignigion, compression, fuel.
You think you have ignition and compression so:
unhook the fuel line to you carb,
remove the draining bolt on the carb and drain it dry.
Then remove the spark plug, use either brake cleaner, wd 40, quick start fluid, WATHEVER explode.
Not gas because its weak.
Put a tablespoon of whatever fluid you choose into the spark plug hole.
Put a BRAND NEW spark plug in, get a good standing position (wou may put the bike against a wall to be able to crank without having to balance it)
Turn the crank slowly until its on tdc.
Give it your strongest crank.
If it doesnt fire.
Crank again.
Dont crank more then 10 times.
If it doesnt start, remove the spark plug, put some more starting fluid in there and crank again.
It should start.
If it does, you may have some kind of carb problem.
If it doesnt, well it does tell you that you either have low spark voltage, wrong fireing order, low compression, etc.
Do this test and tell me if it starts.
Also try the bump start method first if you didnt try it.
Im gonna tell you what to do from there.
