Mid 80's RM 250Z Gearbox Questions
Hi,
I'm campaigning an '84 TS 250X (RH in EU) in vintage enduro. My biggest problem with the TS is the huge gap in the ratios between 1st and 2nd. It is so large that many times I cannot shift from 1 to 2 on the steep up hills because the engine as to drop too many revs.
I've looked hard at the LT 250R gearbox (the 6-speed) and found that the shafts and gear sets are about 15mm too wide to fit in the TS cases, so now I'm looking at the close ratios and shafts of the RM 'box.
I'm looking for someone to take some measurements and maybe photos of the mid 80's shafts and gears.
Do we have any members willing to assist?
Thanks in advance
