Default Programming remotes for the Reno - How to???

Anyone know how to program the remotes to the Reno?

Just got it, and neither are programmed to the car. Going to take it to the dealer, but I'd like to know myself in the future...

Thanks.

Okay, but my response isnt much better than "take it to the dealer"...read your owners manual Sorry, but it will have specific instructions in there.

But why are you needing to reprogram a remote if you just bought the car???

She picked up the car Sunday and didn't test the remotes to see if they worked or not... Me, I checked everything out when she brought it home. That's how I discovered them to be inop.

I looked in the manual, and it says to return to the dealer to get them reprogrammed to the car... [>:]

And by remotes, I mean the keyless entry that's in the key.

Man, when my (Aerio)remote died...the instructions sucked and consisted of alot of open the door, close the door, turn the key on and then turn the key off, then open your door and and push the door sensor button thing 3 times and then press the remote button 3 times...I mean, its very specific stuff but then also very vague at the same time. I found eventually after taking it to the dealer that my reciever needed to be replaced and that the remote would never reprogram with that board.

So much for virgin door locks

Heh, you know I figured out what the remote was today as I got in my car...Idiot moment...

WHen I was buying my car, another woman had just come back to the dealership complaining that her keyless wasnt working, and as i waited for the salesman i wanted to deal with to come back from a test drive, I managed to listen in on their conversation..they took the remote to the back, swapped the battery, nothing happned, and all the while i noticed the DOOR was open on the car, the guys went back, swapped the battery again, came back, and she had closed the door, and they pressed the button, and it works, she leaves, they told me they swapped the origional battery back in the second time, so she still has the same battery she came in with, when the innitial problem arrose. Mabey the contacts were loose inside, who knows, but i learned that the remote dosnt work with the doors open. For the record, i didnt get an owners manual till a month after i had my car, and took it in for a tire leak about 20 times, turns out it was a "pourus rim" so they "welded the leak" (it still leaks....only much, much slower) i found out it still was leakey when i took off the summer rims, and put on the winter ones, and just recently i noticed it was holding 5 lbs when i put the summer stock rims on, but i swapped it to the rear, and it seems to hold well now. I'm not worried, i'm getting new rims soon probably.
