HI, WHEN RIDING MY SV1000 IT WILL SPUTTER AND ALL THE ELECTRICAL SHUTS DOWN THEN AFTER A SPLIT SECOND EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL AND THE BIKE RESTARTS AND KEEPS GOING...ITS DONE IT ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES, AND ONCE I WENT TO GO HOME AND HAD NO ELECTRICAL, TOOK OFF THE SEATS AND AS SOON AS THE FRONT SEAT WAS TAKEN OFF EVERYTHING BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN..... CAN ANYONE HELP...COULD IT BE A GROUND OR ANOTHER PROBLEM

 

Mine did the same thing this last weekend twice. Then after I shut it down it wouldn't come back on. When I would turn the key the digital display didn't even turn on. I talked to someone that had the same problem, and he said that it's from either a relay going bad or some wiring harness getting corrosion. He said that it happened to his SV one time. When I get it figured out I'll repost and let you know. If someone knows in the mean time I would love any adviceI could get for how to fix this problem.

check that the screws holding the seat on aren't cutting into the wiring loom + shorting your wires ( i think the loom is on the right-hand side,but check both sides )
