Default Putting my bike to work

Hi all,

After 16 years, I've decided to put my B12 to its pace, It's been parked all this time and has 20k kms (from the old times that I've used to travel around Europe).

At first it seemed almost like a dream hearing the mechanic saying: It's done! (after just a couple of days) and with such a small intervention. It went good for the first couple of days but after that it never started again. It smelled gas everywhere and spent an entire gas tank in a couple of around town short trips.

In the end, it seems that the cullprit is on the carb kit, which is not working properly and is giving full gas passage to the motor, even when fully shut down and parked.

I'm now looking for carb kits. Went straight to the forum FAQ and understood that there are links to upgraded carb kits there. Nonetheless, I had an upgraded kit installed and removed some 17 years ago, just because it never came to work flawlessly.

At the time the kit was to complement my other mods (Exhaust - which, by the way, I'm planning to swap; Air Box; In and Out GSX-R Cams, Timing advancer). About this, my recent mechanic told me that the EGR was manually blocked out and asked me why. I don't know why and the only thing that I could tell him was that if it is like that, it was something done when all the previous mods were done.

So, if anyone is willing to help me chose the best option to put my B12 working again, I'll be very appreciated.

All the best and a great 2025 for all!
