Angry 2006 boulevard c50 coolant in oil

Hi everybody, I'm new here and I hope someone can help me out with this. I bought a boulevard c50 last year and by the end of the season the cam chains were making a lot of noise so and it was using a lot of oil so I thought I would rebuild the top half of the motor. i did everything to spec by the shop manual. i started it up the first day and everything seemed fine then i started it up today and it was smoking so i shut it down and looked at my oil sight glass and there's coolant in the oil. has anybody had this problem before? also the Suzuki shop manual says the head covers only torque to 7 ft lbs that doesn't seem like much to me?

Sounds like a leaky head gasket. Did you put it on upside-down? Easy to do. Check your plugs. Will tell you which one by the water or antifreeze stain.

Thanks Robbie7878, I got it figured out. Turns out my torque wrench was way off so when I torqued the head bolts to 28 ft lbs they were actually only at about 16 all the gaskets leaked. I hope I caught it soon enough that it didn't mess up my motor. All I can say is make sure your torque wrench is accurate.

Awesome. Happy to hear it was simple.
As long as you didn't run it too long, should be fine after oil and coolant changes.
