Default Volusia Shocks

I bought a 800 Volusia last summer and really love the bike. It's an 2003 canadian annaveristy model. It has been customized already. Now I'm looking for a shock for the rear. The prices are out of this world. Factory is 454.00. and I've seen them as high as 900.00. Has anyone seen these cheaper? I'm fiancially challeged at this time and don't see it getting any better in this economy.

Check Ebay, they'll be used but normally functional and way cheaper. My friends and I have had pretty good sucess at buying stuff for our bikes through ebay. You also might want to check out some of the parts houses that advertise here if you're set on new.
Good hunting.

Thanks for the advice. I checked out ebay and they had nothing. I've been looking on the internet off and on for months , but nothing there either. I've decded when it gets warmer I'm going to check out a couple of Motorcycle junk yards. I may need to get a front fender while I'm at it if I can't fix mine.I broke off one of the bolt tabs holding it to the forks. My nieghbor thinks he can fix it,but if he can't I'll have to replace it. Thought about buying a smaller newer style and put on it -we'll see. Thanks again

You know out of curiousity I went to ebay just a little bit ago and typed in volusia rear shock in the main search for all of ebay and got 3 hits, 1 is for bid, 2 are in an ebay store. All 3 are around 125 incl shipping. Hope this helps,
