2005 C90T Charging System Failure

2005 C90T Charging System Failure
I have a 2005 C90T, the battery is brand new, the bike will start with a fully charged battery but will not charge the battery nor will the bike continue to run when the neg cable of the battery is disconnected. Has anyone else experienced this problem and what was your remedy/fix to the problem?
