Strange "ticking" sounds from the engine....
Hi everyone!
First of all, sorry for the language...Im from Sweden. =)
I bought a M800 ( Boulevard m50) in february and after a while I noticed a ticking sound coming from the engine. When I rev the bike the ticking follows the rev....I also hear a "whining" sound when driving on low revs in the 4th and 5th gear. This also follows the revs and when I pull the clutch it stoppes. Anyone who had the same problem? Or perhaps its not even a problem? Is it normal?
Actually, I asked the dealer who sold me the bike to take a look at it and listen to the engine and they just said that they couldnt hear anything at all...
Edit:
The bike is from 2007 and has run 5000 km.
Best regards

I have an 2006 M50 and have the same noises. I have done alot of research about it and talked to few dealers/mechanics, and it seem to be completely normal. I started using AMSOIL full synthetic and it's quieted a little. But apparently, that is just how the motor is. The whining sound I have figured is the air intake starving for air. I suggest a new breather and some aftermarket pipes. Don't forget some sort of efi module. Good luck!
