Default 07 S50 Not Running Smoothly

Hey everyone. New to the forum, been riding for 6 years now. Had all Kawasakis up untill now, will I saw the S50 about a month ago, fell in love, and traded in my ZZR.

I'll get right to the point. About a week ago, my bike started to "hiccup" for lack of a better word. On a steady throttle, at any speed or RPM (but not noticable under hard acceleration) the bike will not run very smoothly. It's not very violent, and it doesn't do it all the time.

I checked the battery, the negative terminal was loose. I tightened it, and that didn't help.

Dirty gas? No, I just rode to Baltimore and back this weekend ~7 hours total. I actually completely ran out of gas (coasted into the station whew) at one point so I dont think that would be it.

Any ideas? It's going into the shop in a few weeks to get the forks redone, and if it's still doing it by then I'll have the mechanic look at it, but I'd like to fix it myself, if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Default low speed jet clogged

Had the bike been sitting for a while? Sounds like it might have a gunked up float valve or low speed jet have some crud in it. I had this same issue with my bike and was able to do the Hail Mary tune up with a half a can of "Sea Foam" gas treatment for a few tanks and now it runs smooth. I just joined this forum as I have a 2008 S50 that I just picked up with 3600 miles. It's a nice bike.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to pick up a can of seafoam and see if that helps.

Keep your vehicle running smoothly, check your fuel injector frequently and also check your plugs and plug wires they may need to be replaced.

Ya. I have an 06 and it did the same thing. I took the carbs apart and cleaned them blew the fuel lines out. Ran a can of sea foam through it. Runs perfect now. Just don't expect immediate results. After all that, it'll take a couple good rides to run the kinks out of it. It might smoke a lil bit the first time you fire it up. Dont be concerned. It will. Just a lil bit tho.
