anyone here own a S-83 Suzuki?

 

I own a 2005 S83. Had it about 4 weeks now. Approximately 2500 miles on it now. I daily commute 80 miles round trip 6 to 7 days a week on it. I also ride it on my off time. It essentially has replaced my car. It is a great bike. I'm very pleased with it. I've added the backrest (request from my wife) and the windshield. Wasn't sure I would like the windshield but it has grown on me.

I've found this to be a very smooth, powerful and fuel efficient bike. Handles great for a cruiser and is a lot of fun to ride. On my commute I'm upto 58mpg now. Fuel mileage improved quite a bit after the break in service and since about 1800 miles has improved quite a bit again. I'm now even getting 50 to 52mpg riding two up. For comparison my first tank was 38mpg and prior to the break in service was running 42 to 45mpg. Prior to 1800 miles my best tank was 48mpg. Now even when I'm fun riding (heavier throttle) I'm getting 48 to 50mpg.

This thing is a torque monster..... It is a blast to ride and corners very well for a cruiser.

 

2005 S83 purchased on Labor day weekend and haven't driven my car since. Great bike - agree with all of "S83'S" comments

 

I bought mine on August 5th, 2005. Have 5400 miles on it now. Still going strong!! Had some issues with rust on some of the chrome parts but think I have that under control now. Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and Rust Remover is great! The more I ride this bike the more I like it. YEP! Just turned 6000 miles thismorning. I commute 80 miles a day roundtrip. 6 days a week. Sometimes 7 days a week. Some of the miles are "pleasure" riding miles also. Cold weather and rain starting to slow me down now. May only get to ride it 5 days this week.

 

where do you live in the world that allows you to ride that much?

 

NE Indiana. We are actually going to see 70 degrees the next couple days....... Rain all weekend though.

 

i live near detroit, and we are expecting similar weather.

 

Just bought a 2008 S83 and have to say that I really love the way it handles. I just had the first service done over the weekend and hope to see the mileage settle out.
