C50 gear change

C50 gear change
Hi All, just recently returned to riding after a break of 20 years, and purchased a Suzuki C50 – great bike and beautiful to ride. My question is; the owners manual suggests the gear change speed for Canada (doesn’t mention Australia) is 1st to 2nd 20km/h, 2nd to 3rd 30km/h, 3rd to 4th 40 km/h and 4th to 5th 50km/h. Would this be the same for Australia, riding the bike it seems very low, and almost like I’m labouring the bike. I’m breaking the motor in and in reality change by the sound of the motor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

RE: C50 gear change
I have an S50, which has the same engine 800cc. I bought my bike new and broke in the engine, the bike has now 3000km. I found that changing the first gear at 20km to the second gear is too early and caused engine knocking. these are the speeds that you would normally operate at and should not exceed during the break-in period
1-2gear @ 40km
2-3gear @ 60km
3-4gear @ 80km
the key is not to crank the throttle more that 1/2 for the first 1000km,y dealer suggested that I can mark the throttle

RE: C50 gear change
what is suggested in the manual is for the throttle position(think it was 1/2 open and then later on no more then 3/4 open) for break in as for as speed at which to shift goes that is for optimal fuel saving.
