Default M109R temp light comes on - no fan??

Have a 2008 M109R with less than 100km. The temperature light comes on and the fan doesn't, after riding for a short while. (outside temp 14C and cloudy). Any thoughts?

I'd check the fuse. My m50, I've never had the temp light come on except for when you 1st turn the key. But I can tell you that the fan cycles on and off, even on screaming hot days. If it's not a fuse, sounds like a warrenty thing.
