Default C90 rearend "whirr"

I just purchased (one month ago) a new C90T. I trailered it to Florida and on a short helmetless ride heard for the first time a "whirring" sound in the rear. I thought at first it was the tread on the road but it doesn't change when swerving or at different speeds. I wondered about sticky brake discs but sound does not change with application or rear brake. I pulled the clutch in at speed and the sound stays the same when coasting. Any ideas? Anyone else familiar with the problem. I am here for a week, 700 miles from my dealer and do not want to miss the ride time. Bike rides and performs well==is this just a C90 sound? Any help greatly appreciated
