About 20 years ago I acquired an '81 GS1100E. I have ridden it off and on since then and I'm at the point where I want to make it a project bike. It's a good solid bike, but I'm not happy with the front end, especially the big-wheel look and the whole headlight nacelle assembly. Is there an easy swap availalble for a newer model front end with a standard wheel and headlight assembly? I want something that I can adapt to the existing wiring, speedo and tach cables. Standard fork configuration is OK for what I do. I do not need the latest in upside-down forks. Any suggestions???

 

My 1100 GS/GK was dressed.I took a lot of trim of the front end and it looked a lot better.
