S50 luggage rack mounting

S50 luggage rack mounting
I have a 2008 Suzuki S50 Boulevard. I am trying to mount a new luggage rack to the sissy bar. I removed the bolts on the sissy bar but cannot get the unit apart to install the mounting brackets for the rack. How do I get it apart?
