Default suzuki engine changes

I bought a 79 GS1000. The No4 cyl is rusted up tight. Will a GS750 or a GS850 fit in the same mount?

Hi,

The GS750 engine will not fit in the GS1000 frame.

If you are taking shafties, the 850G engine will fit in the 1000G frame and vice-versa. Take care to move the necessary driveline parts too. IIRC, if you move an 850 motor into a 1000 frame (can't you find another 1000 motor?) you will need some parts from the 850 U-joint that connect it to the 1000's drive shaft.

If you have a 1000E (chain drive), there was no 850 chain drive from Suzuki.

For lots more info on these great GS bikes, visit http://www.thegsresources.com and the forum at http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum .

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
