Hi ... noob here... I have a 03 GSXR 600... and Im just about due for an oil change and had a couple ?s ... well I know how much oil is needed like 3.3 qts I think... but what kind of oil do I need to get... just like regular 10w 40 auto oil or what? and what kind of filter do I need ...is there a car one that is the same?and do I have to take the whole fairing off to get to the drain plug? Thanks a lot... I know theyre pretty lame ?s but I just wanna do it right the first time...

its not the same kind of oil that you put into your car, car oil has additive in it to reduce friction and all that lovely stuff, which you dont want on your clutch, the same with the filter there are ones that i know of that are specially made for bike, there may be some auto ones that work, dont really know i would recommend that you go to your nearest dealer and find out what you bike specifically takes for oil and filter then go to denniskirk.com and get the oil from them they can also tell you what filter you need by putting in your bike info. i would recommend taking off the fairing and im pretty sure you need to in order to gain good access to the components, also if you have a book for the bike make sure that you do whatever else you need to do at the time of service for the milage on the bike its not just an oil change.
