I've been outg of the loop on bikes for a couple years and just purchased a 2002 Gixxer 1000 from my friend. He said that the bike was re-mapped with the original computer, and has a Yoshimura full-system, however I was just informed that there is a "power Commander" for my bike.
1-What does it do?
2-Is it worth looking into and what does it do

Well, go to www.powercommander.com and check it out lol!

It basically allows you to make on the fly changes to your fuel map as well as hooking a computer up to it to edit your map based on throttle position as the x axis and rpm as the y axis. Its definatly a nice thing to have, and if your bike is not stock then its almost a must. Running too lean not only creates more heat but can lead to detonation. Your engines life will significantly drop if you don't tune it for your mods.
