Default Wear protection

Greetings everyone =)

I have been contemplating changing a few old, rusty parts from my Suzuki. I'm a bit bummed out because they aren't that old and really shouldn't show so much wear damage after only a couple of years. I don't know think I'm using low quality parts either... Although I do have to admit that it can get extremely humid here, no matter what season it is.

So I've stumbled across Borinox which promises to make steel appliances more wear resistant. Apparently it is fit for automotive parts. They have listed a few parts that I would use Borinox on but I'm not sure if and how exactly it works. I have tried researching a bit and apparently they don't coat the materials in a protective layer. Rather they cause something on the surface to surpress precipitation of chromium carbides, which results in better corrosion resistance.

Can anyone attest to that? Has anyone here ever tried Borinox before?
